Privacy Policy

How ReGifted handles personal information on this website and in the pilot app.

Company website

This site has no forms or ReGifted analytics scripts. Netlify, our website host, may process standard request information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the site.

Accounts and building verification

The pilot uses your email to sign you in and asks for your name and building address to set up membership. With permission, the app checks whether your device is near your building. For nearby verification, the app sends a location reading to our verification service to check proximity. The verification record keeps the result of qualifying checks without retaining the raw device coordinates. You can turn off location access in your device or browser settings and use the alternatives offered in the app. If you submit proof of address, show only your name and address and cover the rest. Proof is available to authorized reviewers. When review ends, access to the image is removed and the image is queued for deletion. Your optional unit number stays private unless you choose to share it, for example in a pickup chat.

Listings, chat, and notifications

Listing photos and pickup details help neighbors in your building exchange items. Chat messages are shared with the participants. Authorized operators may review reports and any evidence you submit in a pickup dispute to investigate and resolve the issue. If you enable push notifications, the app uses a device token to deliver them.

Pilot activity

ReGifted records events such as verified memberships, published listings, and completed pickups to measure how the pilot is working. These records may include account, building, and listing identifiers and an event timestamp.

Service providers

The pilot uses Supabase for accounts and app data, Resend for sign-in email, Mapbox for web address lookup, and Expo and Firebase services to support app delivery and notifications. When you email support, we use your email address and message to respond. Service providers may process information outside Canada, where local laws may apply.

Account deletion and privacy questions

In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account. You can also request account deletion online. The app removes your profile, verification records, listings, messages, private photos, and notification registrations. Pilot activity records can remain after the account identifier is removed.
